Empowering the tech team at a Texas megachurch
Solomon Group’s work with Gateway Church began in the installation space. In the past few years, we’ve provided their Technical Arts (T.A.) team with a handful of creative, LED display solutions.
When T.A. leaders wanted to learn more about our event capabilities, they visited us during Solomon Group’s production of ESSENCE Festival in 2015. Over that Fourth of July Weekend, they got to see our event production and management teams in action during one of our biggest and most complex annual shows.
Gateway Church holds several conferences each year to keep its 36,000 members connected with one another. One of them is “Pink Impact."
Attendance at this popular event for women has steadily increased since it began in 2006. By 2015, church leaders realized that Pink Impact had outgrown their capacity to host it at Gateway’s main campus. For help, both with the transition to a new venue AND with boosting the audience experience to a higher level, Gateway Church turned to Solomon Group.
Pink Impact 2016 was held across two days at the Fort Worth Convention Center in May. Gateway Church Technical Arts produced and called the event, while Solomon Group provided full design, technical and event management services.
Our team designed the massive stage inside of the convention center, created its custom-fabricated stairs, and provided all lighting, audio, video and LED gear. We designed, printed and installed graphics throughout the venue, including meter boards, door clings, truss structures and banners. And we added exterior lighting to the convention center so it would shine for the event.
Solomon Group’s event managers provided all site layouts for the convention hall and concourses. We coordinated registration, volunteers, ushers, and permitting, as well as the catering, transportation and security vendors. Our team also provided full expo services including drape, linens, tables and furniture for the conference. Finally, Solomon Group provided production labor, graphics and food vendor coordination for the After Party, where singer Moriah Peters performed.
Pink Impact 2016 drew over 9,500 women to the Fort Worth Convention Center. Gateway Church Technical Arts produced an exciting and inspirational two-day event with Solomon Group’s full production and management support. They were thrilled with the result, and our team is already working with theirs planning next year’s inspiring event.
