Lollapalooza - Perry’s Stage

Boosting Lolla’s EDM experience

Lollapalooza - Perry’s Stage

Boosting Lolla’s EDM experience

Known for its celebration of alternative rock bands, Lollapalooza draws 300,000 music fans to Chicago each year. The three-day cultural experience takes place on 115 acres of the city’s historic Grant Park.

Solomon Group offered festival organizer C3 Presents a dazzling new concept for Perry’s, the fast-growing EDM (Electronic Dance Music) stage at Lollapalooza, which attracts the event’s youngest attendees.

We knew it was vital that our design and production services offer the flexibility to support the stage’s multiple DJs and performers, while providing visually stimulating content for a field of attendees.  Our goal was to help C3 develop Perry’s into a trendsetter among EDM concert stages going forward.

Solomon Group provided production design and services, including lighting and LED display systems, geared specifically for artists and fans of EDM.

According to a USA TODAY article recapping Lolla 2014, “...perhaps the most obvious change at the music festival was the look of Perry's Stage. ‘Now it's a monster, it looks like it's a Transformer,’ says Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell of his namesake stage, which boasted large Jumbotron screens and an elevated mixing console. ‘We're mixing live music and video simultaneously.'”
