Outfitting an Iconic Brand to Compete like an All-Star

As the NBA’s official uniform and apparel supplier, adidas intended to bring its "A" game to All-Star Weekend.  The plan?  Equip several New Orleans locations to play as vibrant brand experiences throughout the four-day event.

Solomon Group teamed up with Kamp Grizzly and Figure Plant to create five different activations for adidas.  Each involved a separate location that offered a distinctive experience to targeted attendees.

For the adidas Fan Experience Cube, Solomon Group literally created a building in the city’s historic French Quarter.  Our team designed a solid cube structure that covered an entire parking lot on Chartres St.  The temporary building had to be aesthetically pleasing, comfortable for guests and able to withstand the elements.  Here, visitors lined up to meet star players, have their photos taken and posted online at a venue that offered the ultimate NBA fan experience.  Our team provided custom LED walls, lighting, audio, site management, power and logistics for “The Cube.”

At the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, Solomon Group provided its full arsenal of services to create the adidas Players Lounge, an inviting space where players, coaches and their families could take a break, relax and socialize during the busy weekend.

adidas in the Quarter also threw a party at the House of Blues on Saturday night.  Solomon Group supplied staging, lighting and LED displays for the exclusive event, which featured musical performances, celebrity guests and player appearances for some lucky fans.

We also provided an LED step and repeat wall for the adidas in the Quarter pop-up retail store, where fans could browse NBA All-Star gear and meet a legendary line-up of athletes and entertainers during product launches, concerts and in-store appearances.

Finally, Solomon Group furnished video displays, an LED wall and two player suites for a private party at the W New Orleans French Quarter held exclusively for adidas staff.

Within a few square blocks, Solomon Group totaled five assists to help one of the world’s most valuable sports brands put on a winning performance during the 2014 NBA All-Star Weekend.
