UPDATE: Superdome Lighting Wins International Award

UPDATE: Superdome Lighting Wins International Award

UPDATE:  The Mercedes-Benz Superdome wins the 2012 Live Deisgn Award for Archatainment!

And the award goes to... We bet it’s going to be our client- the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The venue is nominated for Live Design magazine’s prestigious Excellence Award for the exterior lighting system designed and installed by Solomon Group.

The nomination is something that all New Orleanians and citizens of the Who Dat Nation worldwide can be proud of. Best of all, they can help take home the win by voting here before April 27.

The competition is stiff, though -- The Mercedes-Benz Superdome is up against the 10 best examples of architainment (hybrid of entertainment and architecture) in the world. Other nominees include Stone Mountain Park’s “Lasershow Spectacular” and the Asian Football Cup’s 2011 City Lighting.

What sets our nomination apart is that the iconic New Orleans skyline was forever enriched when Mercedes-Benz Superdome officials flipped the switch on the lighting system in October 2011. Since then, the lights have been transforming building’s exterior with a spectrum of animated colors, patterns and images. The nightly shows have enhanced the experience of tourists, sports fans, and New Orleanians alike.
